Homework project: Can you write a weather Diary for a week?
Our learning this half term will be based around
exploring the weather and the
changing of the seasons.
We will be looking at weather
around the world and comparing it to the weather
we experience in the UK.
We have three classes in Year 1:
Blue class, Green class and Aqua class
They will be supported and guided through this important year by:-
All working together to help the children to achieve their full potential and to make good progress.
If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss with us then please contact the office to make an appointment to see us, we are more than happy to meet with you. Remember short messages can be passed on to the staff who are on the door each morning.
We have been very happy to see so many of the children wearing their full correct school uniform and setting such a brilliant example for the rest of the school, thank you.
P.E. will be on Wednesdays. All children must have a school P.E. kit to change into. Please ensure these are named.
We encourage all children to bring a water bottle to class, which they can refill at regular intervals during the day in order to keep themselves well hydrated. Please could you make sure that water bottles are labelled clearly with your child's full name.
In Year 1 reading at home is vitally important for the children.
We expect the children to read out loud to an adult at least 5 times a week at home. Please sign or initial in the homework diary to confirm that this has been completed. Please remember that you have access to a wealth of Bug Club books to support this.
Choose 5-10 spellings from the list in the homework diary to practise each week. Should you require further words please speak to your child's class teacher.
Maths passports (Stage 1) are located in the homework diary-please practise a couple of the skills each week.
Children should have their homework folders in school every day. Homework diaries will be checked in school on Fridays.
Please remember to use My Maths at home to support your child's learning. Tasks will be set by teachers when appropriate to reinforce learning. General number activities can be accessed at any point.
Remember that children are welcome to wear boots to school but need school shoes to change into when they arrive.
