Governors are volunteers from the local community. Here is some additional information about each of our Governors.
Mrs Jenny Capstick MBE - Chair of Governors
I am very pleased to be working with Fairholme Primary School and supporting them as Chair of Governors. Before retiring I worked for Hounslow Local Authority supporting many schools across the borough as Head of SEN. I am passionate about supporting all children to achieve their best and ensuring that all staff have the skills and training necessary to deliver quality teaching for all children.
Miss Helen Willis - Headteacher
I have worked at Fairholme Primary School since September 2000. I started as a year 1 class teacher and over the years I have worked in many year groups across the school. In October 2013 I was fortunate enough to be appointed as the Headteacher. I thoroughly enjoy working at Fairholme Primary School and believe that it is our responsibility to ensure that all children access a broad and balanced curriculum which caters for everyone's needs.
Mrs Laura Buchanan - Vice Chair of Govenors
I have worked in education for over 12 years in a number of schools in both Hillingdon and Hounslow. Currently, I am Deputy Head teacher of a primary school in Hounslow. I am dedicated to ensuring that all children receive an engaging, broad and balanced education that nurtures their interests and talents whilst preparing them well them for the future. I am invested in the local community in and around Bedfont and feel privileged to be given the opportunity to both support and challenge Fairholme Primary School as they continue on their journey.
Miss Yvonne Whittington - Staff Governor
I am a mother of one and my daughter attended Fairholme Primary School which is why I became involved in the school. I first started as a volunteer listening to Years 5 and 6 read.
I became a Governor as I believe that education is very important to all children and that if they learn to love education in primary school they will then carry that through to secondary school, college and even university. All children deserve the best education possible and we need to encourage them to dream big because they are the future for Great Britain.

Mr Ryan Ward - Co-opted Governor
I am honoured to have been accepted as a co-opted governor for Fairholme Primary School. It’s our collective duty to influence positive change in the community and Feltham/Bedfont is a community who invested a wealth of time in preparing me for the next step in my life. I left education in 2012 after completing my A-Levels at Rivers Academy West London, I went on to join Sky on an internship in Broadcast and have since moved across multiple roles within the business and currently I am managing a range of corporate technology services and people across the UK.
I feel passionate about education and investing in our young community to better prepare them for the ever changing world ahead. I hope to use my experience in Technology, management, and mentoring to assist in the development of Fairholme Primary School.
I can already see such potential in the students and it’s crucial we prepare them for the next step in their lives. We will do that by ensuring the pupils receive an excellent and inspiring education in a happy and safe environment.
Mrs Sarah Byrne - Co-opted Governor
I believe Fairholme to be the best school for my children; the school has been a large part of our lives. With this in mind I want to give something back to school. So by applying to be parent governor I want to help support and challenge Fairholme to be the best that it can be. I hope some of my attributes that I bring can be used to help the school and committee. I work currently with children and vulnerable adults, I’m fair and hardworking. Fairholme School is key to our community and I am willing to listen and be proactive in the position to ensure I’m acting in the best interest of the children that attend Fairholme.
